Administrative requirements and details of work contracts will vary among the TRC partner institutions. Contact your Human Resources department or personal support to find out more.

Salary

Your contract will fix your gross salary and any special payments such as Christmas bonus, etc. Please see Social Security for information on standard deductions.

Vacation

As an employee, you have at least 20 days of paid vacation per year. Please check your contract or ask in your personnel department to find out how many days of vacation you are entitled to.

Sick Leave

If you become ill and cannot go to work, notify your employer immediately. You must also send the copy marked "Krankenkasse" to your health insurance provider.

Probation Period

It is customary to have a probation period when you start working for a new employer. Please check your contract to find the duration of a possible probation period.

Notice Period

If you wish to terminate your employment contract early, you must give your employer a certain amount of advance notice. Please ask your institute's human resources department for details.
