|As an employee, you have at least 20 days of paid vacation per year. Please check your contract or ask in your personnel department to find out how many days of vacation you are entitled to.|
As an employee, you are entitled to paid sick leave which is not deducted from your vacation days.
If you become ill and cannot work, notify your employer immediately. If you are sick for more than two days, you must see your physician and have him or her issue you a sick note which must reach your employer as soon possible, but by the fourth day at the very latest. You must also send the copy marked "Krankenkasse" to your health insurance provider.
|It is customary to have a probation period when you start working for a new employer. Please check your contract to find the duration of a possible probation period.|
|If you wish to terminate your employment contract early, you must give your employer a certain amount of advance notice. Please ask your institute's human resources department for details.|
